With 2023 in full swing, I’ve been scouting out the latest interior design trends to share with you, so let’s have a look at what’s being talked about, which as you will see below, are placing sustainability at the core of it all.

While cool, grey tones have dominated in recent years, warm neutrals are making a comeback. Think stoney whites, soft beiges and warm greys, which create a cosy, inviting atmosphere. This, paired with organic materials are becoming increasingly popular, with many homes incorporating wood finishes and natural stone materials to add a touch of warmth and texture to a space.

With sustainability becoming an increasingly important issue, many are constantly looking for ways to incorporate eco-friendly materials into their homes. This trend is reflected in the use of natural and recycled materials, where you can expect to see the use of stone and sustainable woods like bamboo and cork, natural fibres like jute and hemp, as well as soft materials like wool and linen.

You may have heard about biophilic design before. It's not a new concept, but it has been gaining popularity in recent years. Biophilic design is all about bringing nature indoors and involves using natural elements like plants, organic materials and natural light to create a connection with the outdoors. It helps create a calm and inviting environment within your home, whilst also supporting healthy living.

Minimalism, the concept of less is more, has been a popular design trend for years, though in 2023, expect to see minimalism with a twist. Clean lines, uncluttered spaces, and a few well-chosen statement pieces will emphasise function over form and prioritise simplicity and functionality. This design style also encourages decluttering, creating white space in homes, and most importantly, encouraging us to buy less “stuff” that we don’t really need.

Overall, 2023 is shaping up to be an exciting year for interior design. It’s all about creating a sense of warmth and texture, while still keeping things clean and uncluttered. Whether you’re renovating your entire home or just making a few updates, these trends can help you achieve a stylish and modern look.
